Jacobs Hopes to Be Giants Short-Yardage Solution
Everyone's attention at the Giants mini camp Thursday was on thier 110th draft pick Brandon Jacobs from Southern Illinois. Hopefully he can take the place of Ron Dayne who proved to be a huge failure. The story can be found at http://giants.com/news/eisen/story.asp?story_id=6534.

I guess it makes sense that he got the most attention from the media, basically because he isn't built like a typical running back. I guess only time will tell if that will be an advantage to him or not!

You are right Meg, it is far to early in his NFL career to see if he will be a successful running back.

I think I would be a better option at running back than Ron Dayne. What a disappointment. Maybe he'll be like Tyrone Wheatley and be good somewhere else.

I hope it works. We miss the Rodney Dayne style for a few yards. Sure Tiki is a great broken field runner, but drops the ball too much and doesnt have the muscle to get two yards up the middle

Ron Dayne really did nothing good for the Giants organization, they basically just wasted a first round pick on him.

I hope Brandon Jacobs does something for New York. I can guarantee anyone from now, the Giants are going to be contenders this year.
